O the Sky! is a shadow puppet play that immerses the viewer into the mysterious spirit of the epic sky of the prairie. Shadow clouds of color and shifting shadow hills roll with a car driving through a sunset and a moon lit thunderstorm. The car is going 90 mph out of Omaha with a 19 yr old alcoholic boy, a pregant single mother, a sleeping one-year-old and a stranger hitching a ride. The passionate yet isolated lives reflect the lonely and breathtaking beauty of the sky. The shadow screen sky becomes a dreamscape for the characters, where time and emotion expand and contract. Objects and beings of the prairie become poetic characters.
